PROGRAMS  FOR ADULTS AT ASCA - AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL FOR CREATIVE ARTS

What We Offer

ART AS A THERAPEUTIC PRACTICE

An Art programme designed for Wellebeing for Adults

This programme was designed based on the research that ASCA's founder Sunari Sooriaaratchi has conducted into the wellbeing benefits of art.

An open-ended  and self-directed approach to the design of these sessions means that clients have access to a wide variety of materials and the benefit of a skilled practitioner on hand to guide them through areas of technical understanding when needed. The focus is more on process than on outcome. Materials will vary across painting, clay (ceramics), wood, wire, found objects, drawing, paper mache, tapestry to name some, but are not limited to these materials. Clients are also able to incorporate photography, film, writing and performance into their sessions if desired - this can be discussed with their session facilitator and mentor. The possibilities for creative self expression available to clients via these sessions are very wide. This programme is available to all adults and is offered as an equal opportunity experience. Clients of the NDIS are encouraged to apply via the Application Form below.
